1987 Porsche 959 Komfort | Uncrate

One of the most technologically advanced cars of the ’80s, Porsche took the 911 silhouette and gave it all-wheel-drive, a semi-active suspension, and a turbocharged flat-six. The result placed first in class at the 1986 24 Hours of Le Mans and first, second, and sixth in the Paris-Dakar rally — a feat any other could only dream of. This 959 Komfort was completed in 1988 and sold new in France in silver over black leather. The only option was the Komfort package, adding an alarm system and heated, electrically adjustable seats. The car made its way to Canepa Design in 2002, where it got the specialist’s Stage 1 engine upgrade, boosting output to 600 horsepower. The semi-active suspension was replaced with 959 S-type coilovers, a performance and maintenance improvement.Showoing just over 14,000 miles, this 959 goes to auction March 4 at Broad Arrow’s Amelia Island event.
