1978 Maserati Bora 4.9 Coupe

The Bora launched in 1971 as Maserati’s first rear-engined production car, with a 4.7-liter V8 and a beautiful wedge design by Italdesign’s Giorgetto Giugiaro. The Bora was quick and livable, with a generous, comfortable passenger compartment and plenty of space for luggage. The later 4.9-liter Boras gained 20 more horsepower for a total of 330 and a top speed of 170 MPH. This 1978 example is one of 250 4.9-liter cars, out of a total production run of just 564. Presented in Rosso Fuoco over a black leather interior, the car shows just 801 miles on the odometer and factory plastic covers on the door panels — although the mileage can’t be verified. Despite the ultra-low miles, the car has service records indicating it’s road-worthy — although display is more likely for Italian thoroughbred.
