16-inch MacBook Pro With Mini-LED Display to Be Released in 2021 [Report]
A new DigiTimes report corroborates previous predictions that Apple will adopt mini-LED displays for its new iPad Pros and 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2021.
The sources expect that Apple’s 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros and 16-inch MacBook Pro set to be released in 2021 will be equipped with miniLED displays and adoption of miniLED will be expanded to its MacBook Air products in 2022.
Benefits of Mini-LED include thinner and lighter product design, good wide color gamut performance, high contrast and HDR, as well as the ability to dim specific screen areas.
The site says Samsung will also release a mini-LED tablet in 2021 and Micro-Star International (MSI) will release a mini-LED notebook.
The 16-inch MacBook Pro will also feature Apple Silicon and is expected to help boost Apple’s processors to 7% market share in 2021.
