What We Know So Far

Overview

The EV revolution continues as Italian automaker Maserati takes the leap into the electric vehicle marketplace, first with an EV variant of its new Grecale small SUV and next with this 2024 GranTurismo Folgore sports car. All of Maserati’s EVs will feature the Folgore name, which means “lightning” in Italian. The GranTurismo Folgore is promising some, er, lightning-quick acceleration to go along with its high-voltage moniker. According to Maserati, the car will be capable of hitting 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds. Achieving that number will require three electric motors, which combine to make a whopping 1200 horsepower. The GranTurismo Folgore is expected to share its design and interior with the new gasoline-powered GranTurismo, which is slated to debut this year; there’s no word yet on whether a convertible version of either car is part of the plan, but we’ll update this story when we find out more details.

What’s New for 2024?

The GranTurismo Folgore will be an all-new model for the Maserati brand when it goes on sale. We expect to see it debut before the end of 2022 and hit the market sometime in 2023 as a 2024 model.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

If the GranTurismo Folgore follows Maserati’s conventional trim structure, we could see a posh GranLusso trim as the base and more performance-oriented GranSport, GTS, and Trofeo models too. When we find out more about the Folgore’s price and available features, we’ll update this story with details and a recommendation on which one is the best buy.

As more information becomes available, we’ll update this story with more details about:

  • EV Motor, Power, and Performance
  • Range, Charging, and Battery Life
  • Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGe
  • Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
  • Infotainment and Connectivity
  • Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
  • Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
