Overview
When Chevrolet rebirthed the Blazer as a two-row mid-size crossover back in 2019, fans hoping for an off-road-ready SUV were vocal with their disappointment. Now that same niche of buyers is in for another shock, as Chevy is revving up to take the Blazer to the electric realm of autodom with the 2024 Blazer EV. We currently have very few details about the upcoming electric crossover, but we do know that a sporty SS model will be among the first versions to launch. We hope that means a legitimate high-performance variant to take on the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and the Tesla Model Y Performance. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV will undoubtedly use GM’s Ultium battery technology, and we expect both single- and dual-motor variants to be available.
What’s New for 2024?
All we’ve seen so far is a teaser video of the new Blazer EV that shows the SS logo, so it’s still unclear whether or not the Blazer EV will share a platform with the upcoming Chevy Equinox EV, although it makes a lot of sense. We’ll update this story when we find out more information.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Chevy hasn’t yet revealed any pricing information for the 2024 Blazer EV, but we expect it to start higher than the Equinox EV when it hits the market in late 2023. The performance-oriented SS will likely be the top model and therefore will carry a higher price tag.
