Overview
Luxury upstart Genesis is dipping its toe in the EV waters with an electric version of its G80 sedan for the 2022 model year, which will be called Electrified G80. The Electrified G80 is nearly indistinguishable from the gasoline-powered model inside and out, which is fine by us as we find the car’s styling handsome and its cabin lovely. Genesis has not announced many details about the car’s powertrain except that all-wheel drive will be standard, and that range should come in around 265 miles per charge. We expect to learn more about the Electrified G80 closer to its on-sale date in late 2021.
What’s New for 2022?
Not only will the Electrified G80 be an all-new model in the Genesis lineup, it will also serve as the launchpad for other EV variants for the Korean luxury brand.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Genesis has not yet released pricing information, but we expect to see a similar lineup of models as the gasoline-powered G80 and a starting price around $60,000.
