The Saab 9-5 (pronounced “nine-five”) isn’t a huge departure from its predecessor, the 9000. It’s still a front-wheel-drive sedan with a luxurious trim and a turbocharged engine under the hood—in this case, a modestly boosted four-cylinder. The 9-5 can’t match the handling of rear-drive competitors like the BMW 5-Series, but it does offer its own brand of charm, ready to knock off thousand-mile drives in comfort.
