Tom Cruise’s Risky Business 1979 Porsche 928 Coupe

There are collector cars and there are famous cars. While not the rarest or the most desirable, this 1979 Porsche 928 has something no other car has — a leading role in the Tom Cruise breakout film Risky Business. One of the first in a string of 1980s coming-of-age films, Risky Business chronicles Cruise’s character Joel Goodsen’s exploits while his well-to-do parents are on vacation. Goodsen’s chariot for the film was this 928, originally finished in white and painted Platinum Metallic for the film. Legend says that Cruise got his start performing his own stunts — and learning to drive a manual — in this car. This 928 goes to auction during Monterey Car Week via Bonhams.
