Singer Type 964 Porsche 911 DLS Turbo

There was a magical moment in the ’70s and ’80s before computers told everyone all the answers about how to design cars. Designers were free to explore, and one of the most iconic looks to come out of the decade was Porsche’s 935. A massive rear wind and huge fender flares gave the 935 an instantly recognizable profile, and an overall Le Mans win in 1979. Singer is now offering its own recreation of the 935 using the 964 911 as a base. Each car will be completely disassembled and restored, with Singer’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six making 700 horsepower — not quite the 750-850 horsepower the original 935 was capable of. The bodywork is all carbon fiber, with the choice of either the “Moby Dick” whale tail or the slightly more subtle ducktail spoiler.
