Radford’s Type 62-2 is an homage to the 1969 Lotus Type 62, based on the modern Lotus Evora. While most of their builds are road cars, they’re building a one-off in hopes of grabbing an Exhibition Class crown at Pikes Peak. Upgrades over the road car include a supercharged 3.5-liter Toyota V6 stripped to the block by Jubu Performance and rebuilt to output around 710 hp (the standard model makes around 600). The aluminum chassis has been replaced with a full carbon composite monocoque bolted to new subframes, while further race modifications were made to the bodywork, rear wing, cooling system, wheels, and suspension. The result is a sleek single-seater that’s expected to move from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.2 seconds on its way to a top speed of 160. Pikes Peak will be held on June 25th.
