One of the most unique collections of classic sports cars will go to auction in August at Gooding & Co.’s Pebble Beach event — Rush drummer Neil Peart’s Silver Surfer collection. The rock legend passed away after a three-year battle with brain cancer in 2020, and now his estate has decided to pass along his passion for autos — and his favorite color, silver. The best of Britain, Italy, and the US are represented, with the highlight being a 1970 Lamborghini Miura 400 S. Chassis 4042 comes in silver over a black interior and has optional air conditioning. Next is a 1964 Aston Martin DB5, finished as the Miura with a navy blue interior. A 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I comes with upgrades like a modern Tremec five-speed transmission, Wilwood brakes, and suspension. The literal black sheep of the collection is a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, immaculately restored and presented in black over a black interior.
