Porsche is so hot now that even its not-so-well-regarded cars are becoming the basis for six-figure restorations. No longer just a footnote in Porsche history, Nardone is producing a limited run of 928 restomods that reinvent the grand tourer. Under the hood is the original 5.0-liter V8, rebuilt to produce a more suitable 450 horsepower. Backing the motor is a custom-built six-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential. The original steel bodywork has been replaced with carbon fiber, made necessary to cover the widened track bolstered by active suspension. The interior has been completely retrimmed, retaining the trademark center tach with a minimalist layout that captures the angularity of the original design. Nardone with need $525,000 to reserve a spot for the highly limited production run.
