Genesis is making a huge leap into endurance racing, straight into the LMDh series. Hyundai’s luxury brand will campaign the GMR-001, the first car from the newly formed Genesis Magma Racing. The GMR-001 features styling elements from Genesis production cars, notably the Two Lines headlight elements that wrap around the front fenders. Genesis didn’t release any details on the powertrain, but LMDh reules specify a Bosh 50kW motor, Williams battery, Xtrac gearbox, and an engine designed by the manufacturer, with a total output of 671 horsepower. Genesis Magma Racing will contest an LMP2 entry in the 2025 European Le Mans Series in 2025, the WEC in 2026, and IMSA in 2027.
