Fun fact: The Volkswagen Microbus has a lower drag coefficient than the Jaguar E-Type, proving that aerodynamics can be a strange thing. A huge amount of money and development time goes into aerodynamics, from race cars to street cars — sometimes equaling or exceeding engine and chassis budgets. Funtech Lab’s desktop model car wind tunnel lets you visualize what you can’t see, just like the major manufacturers. The display case is a miniature wind tunnel, generating smoke to visualize aerodynamic forces. The case comes in three sizes for 1:18, 1:24, and 1:64 scale models and is customizable with different screens, LED lighting, and smoke nozzles. Availability and pricing hasn’t been announced, although interested parties can sign up for email updates on the project.
