Tokyo-based Direct Cars specializes in converting Japanese trucks and vans into high-utility campers ready for the outdoors. The latest model in Direct Cars’ lineup uses the Toyota Hilux GR as a base for the BR75, a four-door camper. The sleek camper features a popup roof and two doors, along with access from the truck cab. Inside, rugged materials line the interior. A bench seat and table convert into a full-size bed, with a second pull-down bed that can fit two little ones. A touchscreen control panel gives controls and readouts for HVAC, lighting, battery, and water levels. A separate bathroom comes with a slide-out counter and can be reached from inside or outside the vehicle. The BR75-G includes a side-mounted awning and window on the rear hatch. The bed is removed during the installation, and Direct Cars repurposes it as a trailer that’s included in the package. The BR75 is available now through the Direct Cars website.
