Cork Oak House | Uncrate

Sleek and contemporary in form, the Cork Oak House looks like a contrast to its rural surroundings, but it actually embraces the landscape. The home is sensitive to the protected land and its grove of cork oak trees. Its board-formed facade is made using pieces of pine and is left exposed on the interior. Once inside, floor-to-ceiling glazing adds a lightness to the monolithic volume and fills living spaces with natural light, while affording sweeping views of the verdant scenery. Black tile floors expand from the inside to the outdoor patios, connecting with a narrow swilling pool immersed in nature.
