- The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 is now playable on Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox One, Series S, Series X, and PC.
- The free Series 31 monthly update for Forza Horizon 4 happens on January 14.
- The mid-engine Corvette is the 11th Corvette in the game of over 450 different vehicles.
Good news, gamers and Corvette fans: The 495-hp Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 is coming to Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 4 in its Series 31 update on January 14 for both Xbox and PC. Players can unlock the Corvette by completing the Find New Roads seasonal championship event in-game.
The best Corvette ever joins over 450 vehicles in the Forza 4 Horizon that originally launched in 2018. It’s now the 11th Corvette in the game, as at least one car from each generation has been added throughout two years of content updates.
Forza determines performance ratings for each car using criteria including horsepower, top speed, acceleration, and handling. Each car has a designated performance class, from the old and slow 1945 Willys MB Jeep in D class up to the insane 2.8-million-Forza-credit Koenigsegg Jesko in S2 class. Even the Hoonicorn Ford Mustang finds itself near the top of the list in S2 class, a special class for the especially quick and crazy.
We expect to see the Corvette in the S1 class, in a gamut between the 2013 Caterham Superlight R500 and the Chevrolet Silverado DeBerti drift truck. Our only question is, will the game let you swap the engine to the front, as it does with other cars? If you still need more bow tie in your video-game pasta, this update also brings the 1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z as an unlockable car.
In the real world, the C8 Corvette is an especially good deal on performance that’s usually found on vehicles over twice as expensive from manufacturers such as BMW, McLaren, or Porsche. It’s won our 10Best Cars award two years in a row, and during our testing accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, one of the quickest times we’ve ever recorded. No turbos, no supercharger, just pure rear-drive American thunder from Chevy’s pushrod V-8.
Forza Horizon 4 is the third major racing game to add the mid-engine Corvette to its lineup. Slightly Mad Studios’ Project Cars 3 on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 debuted the virtual C8.R race car in August 2020, while online racing simulator iRacing made the Corvette C8.R available for purchase one month later.
Forza Horizon 4 is sold anywhere video games are sold for both the Xbox One and optimized for Xbox Series X and S console, as well as PC. It’s also available for download with Xbox Game Pass.
