Window Shopping, the Zoom call that acts like a game show, returns after an extended hiatus. Where has it been? Thanks for not asking. Generally, everyone has been too busy doing other things to find one time when it can all come together. Also, many of us are very lazy.
This week’s challenge comes from a viewer and it’s all about our loved ones and relatives. Mostly the older ones with enough money to buy interesting cars. When the day comes for them to leave this mortal coil, we wondered if they were so generous as to leave us their car, what would we like it to be?
If it sounds like we’re waiting for them to die to get the keys to their cars, well, remember this wasn’t entirely our idea. But “Hurry up and read the will!” is the sort of inescapable vibe this week. “Get to the good part where I inherit the Ferrari 275GTB/4 and the Dale Earnhardt Signature Edition 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo! Don’t dawdle! I’ve got a Reliable transporter idling outside ready to take them to Barrett-Jackson!”
Great and grand Window Shopping Poobah Tony Quiroga set a budget of $75,000 for this challenge. The idea being, which vehicle would be good for an older person to own but also desirable as an inheritance? Get them to sign that pink slip on their deathbed! Push them out on an ice floe after getting the signature on their will notarized! Don’t risk a great machine winding up in the estate sale.The price limit means no one could choose a good Ferrari—and no one dared present a Mondial or 348. But $75K could have covered several of those Dale Montes.

No Mercedes, Lexus, or Lincoln vehicles were harmed in producing this episode. And no one chose a Buick Park Avenue. Which is stunning mostly because Quiroga always picks Buicks.
Really, isn’t getting the aged to drive interesting cars before they take a dirt nap a noble thing? Of course it is.
