Not content with electric cars and motorcycles, BMW and Tyde have collaborated on a new electric watercraft making its debut at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Measuring just over 43 feet, the Icon’s unique design looks like a modern-day houseboat. An airy, window-enclosed cabin, with LED lighting that can set the atmosphere in daylight or after dark. The Icon’s hull uses hydrofoil technology borrowed from racing yachts, giving the watercraft a nearly wakeless, silent ride. The quiet running is thanks to BMW battery packs taken from the i3, giving the Icon a range of 62 miles and a top speed of 34 MPH.
