While the DB series cars get all the attention, the ’70s-era V8 Vantage has a presence that can’t be matched. Aston Martin is bringing the V8 Vantage back for its 110th anniversary with the Valour, a driver-focused limited-edition GT. The Valour packs a 705 horsepower, 5.2-liter V12 driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission — the kind with a clutch pedal — for the first time since 2013. The Valour rides on the underpinnings of the DBS Superleggera, with similar performance numbers expected. Inside, a wood and metal shifter is the centerpiece of the cockpit, stealing the show from a modest infotainment screen controlled by a turn-and-click controller. The show car uses a leather and tweed interior, inspired by the 1959 DBR1 that won Le Mans. Deliveries of the Valour will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023.
