The future of motorsports is here, and it comes in the form of the Airpseeder Mk3. The first of its kind, the electric flying race car is a full-sized, remotely operated eVTOL, and is ready to begin racing later this year. Creators Alauda are manufacturing 10 identical vehicles in their Adelaide, South Australian facility to be disturbed to teams for a series that’s being dubbed the Formula 1 of the skies. The machine borrows from vintage F1 cars and features a lightweight carbon-fiber construction and an octocopter layout, while LIDAR and RADAR systems allow for tight racing. While current vehicles are purely remote, the company plans to deliver manned Airspeeder Mk4s in 2022.
