ABT Sportsline is going from creating high-performance VW Group cars for the tarmac to crossing the waves with a new electric boat. Based on Marian’s M 800 Spyder, the 26-foot M 800-R is propelled by an electric propulsion system that can push the boat to speeds of up to 46 knots with a range of 50 miles or just over an hour and a half of cruise time. Marian’s semi-glider hull contains a 122kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers performance based on the operating mode, from the high-performance ABT to the low-powered Port. A CCS charger means the M 800-R can be charged at marine or automotive charging stations, and OTA updates keep the M 800-R running at its best. Like ABT’s custom cars, the M 800-R comes in a sporty Alcantara-swathed interior with a custom ABT steering wheel and the spacious proportions of its Marian’s base design. The boat debuted at the 2024 Monaco Formula E race and is now available for order in Europe.
