We all know the Ferrari 250 GTO and Jaguar E-Type, widely acknowledged as two of the most beautiful cars of all time. True connoisseurs, however, will add the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 to that list — and it was made in fewer numbers than even the 250 GTO. Banking on the legacy of the Tipo 33, Alfa Romeo is revealing the 33 Stradale, a spiritual successor to the Tipo 33 based on the Maserati MC20’s chassis and twin-turbo V6, with coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. The low-slung lines of the 33 Stradale draw heavily from the Tipo 33, with a surprisingly open interior thanks to butterfly doors with glass that wraps around the roof. Alfa Romeo admiringly did away with touchscreens in favor of physical controls that activate everything from the front axle lift to the drive mode selector. Alfa Romeo will build 33 examples of the 33 Stradale, all of which have already been spoken for.
