2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
54 years of 911 development have to lead to this. Millions of miles over five decades on race tracks, rally courses, and everyday public roads were all a proving ground for the pinnacle of the storied 911 — the 911 GT2 RS. Put aside the fact that it’s the most powerful 911 ever produced for a moment. The GT2 RS is also the most technologically advanced: a revised aerodynamic package, extensive use of carbon fiber and magnesium, world-class suspension, rear-wheel steering, and ceramic composite brake rotors. But the heart is, of course, the venerable flat-six motor. This revision displaces 3.8 liters and uses dynamic twin turbochargers to deliver a staggering 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, enough to blast from naught-to-60 in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 211 mph — the most ever from a street-legal factory 911. The GT2 RS won’t be the final word on the 911, but it’s the boldest yet from Stuttgart.
