1991 Porsche Koenig-Specials C62 Race Car

The Porsche 962 was one of the most dominant racing cars of all time. From Le Mans to GT racing, wherever the 962 raced, it won. During the supercar craze of the late ’80s, Koenig decided to join the fray with a street-legal version of the fire-breathing 962. Reengineered for German road regulations, the C62 featured revised bodywork and undertray, along with a twin-turbo flat-six with a full exhaust system. Only three C62s were completed out of a planned 30. This 1992 model was originally delivered to Japan before being purchased and imported to the US in 2019. A recent dyno test put engine output at 550 horsepower at a conservative 14.5 psi of boost pressure — not quite what a race-tuned 962 would produce, but more than enough to recreate the feeling of blasting down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans.
