1974 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0

Porsche built 55 units of the Carrera RS 3.0 in 1974 to homologate the chassis for racing. The Grand Prix White chassis pictured here is claimed to be the best surviving example, making it a grail of sorts for Porche enthusiasts. The car was originally designated as a demonstration car for the factory, and was sent to a French Porsche dealer when its duties were fulfilled. Making its way to Ohio and the hands of Charles Stoddard of Stoddard Imported Cars, Stoddard owned the car for nearly 20 years before selling it to a noted Porsche collector in Japan in 1996. Back in the US since 2004, the car is still all-original and incredibly well-preserved, with 18,300 miles and still retaining its numbers-matching engine and transmission. The Carrera RS 3.0 is expected to fetch nearly $2 million at auction.
