The Ford GT40 took its fourth and final Le Mans victory in 1969 — in an outdated Mk I car. The 1969 GT40 pictured here is one of 10 factory competition lightweight cars built, alongside the famous Gulf Team cars. This example retains its original body, chassis, engine, and transaxle, and has been restored to its original specification. The 289ci Gurney Weslake V8 has been rebuilt along with its original ZF five-speed. Authenticated by GT40 expert Ronnie Spain, this significant GT40 goes to auction during Mecum’s Monterey Car Week event.
