1968 Aston Martin DBS Coupe

When the Aston Martin DBS debuted in 1967, it was a turning point in the company’s history. The new car was larger than the outgoing model, with crisper, slab-sided bodywork and a new chassis that would form the basis of Aston’s cars for another 20 years. The iconic Aston grille shape remained, this time enlarged and with a quad headlamp arrangement and fastback silhouette that emphasized the DBS’s continent-crossing grand touring pedigree. This DBS was sold new in 1967 to its first owner in northern England before crossing the Channel to Belgium. There the car was restored in the ’80s and an engine swap with the more powerful Vantage “type C” 4-liter inline-six with triple SU carburetors. The original rare options of five-speed gearbox, Motorola radio, and power steering remain, along with documents for extensive maintenance in the mid-2010s to 2020.
