When Jaguar released the E-Type in 1961, it was widely considered one of the best-looking cars ever — a sentiment continues to the present day. Underneath the timeless lines was Jaguar’s race-proven inline-six and chassis derived from the Le Mans-winning D-Type race car, making the E-Type perform as well as it looked. This left-hand-drive E-Type was delivered to its first owner in California in 1961 and has had only three other owners since. The car received a concours-level frame-off restoration by Jaguar expert Dave Ferguson in 2013 along with a five-speed gearbox and larger front disc brakes. Widely considered the best of the E-Type’s 14-year production run, this is a pristine example.
