10 Automotive YouTube Channels to Watch While You’re at Home

We understand this is a like asking Michael Jordan about his favorite basketball team, but hear us out. Our Window Shop series is about finding cars that meet a different criteria each week, and then watching guests like The Smoking Tire’s Matt Farah, Engineering Explained’s Jason Fenske, or 24 Hours of Lemons founder Jay Lamm explain themselves. Petrolicious is full of documentary-style videos of gearheads and their classic cars. These videos aren’t low budget, either. Watch everything from air-cooled Porsches to a Ferrari 330 P4 and a 1991 Toyota Previa. It’s okay if the cinematography makes you drool. We think they do it on purpose.

Sim racing has become so big in recent years, even professional Formula 1 drivers like Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Max Verstappen are in on it. Jimmy Broadbent races Formula 1 too, but in a casual-sense. Watching compilations of driving fails is addicting, but have you ever wondered what happened next? Matt’s Off Road Recovery and his team of helpers unstuck things for a living in southern Utah. Matt’s channel is raw, there’s no cast or pretend scenario, and the drama unfolds naturally while the GoPros keep recording. The group uses all sorts of tools from recovery straps to lifted Jeep Cherokee XJs. Sometimes the first Jeep Cherokee XJ will break, so they’ll daisy-chain the stranded vehicle attached to the first XJ with another XJ out to a flatbed. Stuff happens. There’s never a dull moment when it comes to off-roading in Utah.
